PEARL Highly Capable Referral Window is Open

Dear PEARL Families,
The window for referring students for testing for highly capable services is now open! If you would like to refer your child for highly capable testing, please complete the Highly Capable Referral Form (linked here) by October 23rd, 2026.

This year’s highly capable testing will take place between October 27th and November 13th. Nominated students will take the CogAt assessment at home online. Testing will be spread over three days. Dates and times for testing will be scheduled once nominations are submitted.

In addition to testing for nominated students, second and fifth grade students will be screened for highly capable services. This screener is a shortened version of the CogAt test that will help to identify students who may be highly capable and are recommended for full CogAt testing. Again, please contact Julia Kilcullen with questions about the Second Grade Screener. The Second Grade Screener will be held on Tuesday, October 13th at 11:00am. The Fifth Grade Screener will take place the same day, Tuesday, October 13th at 1:00pm. Makeup sessions will be offered on Thursday, October 22nd at 9:00am for second graders and 11:00am for fifth graders.
