Hello PEARL Families,

Welcome to the 2026–27 school year! We’re excited to get started and look forward to seeing you at our upcoming Back to School Zoom.

In the meantime, take a look at this week’s PEARL newsletter. This is a new way we’ll be sharing important schoolwide announcements and reminders with families each Friday through ParentSquare.

We hope it helps make it easy to stay informed and connected throughout the year.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Sept. 8: Back to School Zoom

Welcome back, PEARL! Join us at 10:00 AM or 6:00 PM for our annual Back to School Zoom!

Bring your PEARL Family Quest! As you enter the Zoom, watch the slideshow and work together as a family to find clues and complete as many challenges as you can before breakout rooms begin. Keep your eyes open—some answers are hidden along the way!

You'll hear from Principal Jodi Kieffer, then join a breakout room with your PEARL teacher for teacher-specific information.

Joining on multiple devices? Send your teacher the email address being used on the second device so we can place both devices in the correct breakout room.

Attendance is required. This Zoom counts as your student's attendance for the week.

Meet + Greet

Join us Sept. 15 from 10:00 AM–2:30 PM at Finnriver Farm & Cidery for our annual Meet + Greet!

Cost: $10 ages 5+ | Ages 4 & under free

Hearing/vision and RAN/RAS screenings will also be available. Families from all areas are welcome—we'd love to see you! Sign up here.

Goal Setting + Healthy Decision Making

PEARL's health lessons for the year are available in PEARL Health: Healthy Habits for Growing Minds and Bodies. Save the document to use throughout the year, or access it through the link included in your teacher's first email each month.

The lessons are designed for full-time students who have PE/Health on their SLP and aren't using another health curriculum, but all PEARL families are welcome to use them.

September's focus: Goal Setting + Healthy Decision Making

Students will explore how goals help us grow and how thoughtful choices can affect our bodies, minds, relationships, and future. Small, consistent steps can lead to big growth over time.

Parent Square

New and returning families: make sure you have the ParentSquare app. ParentSquare is PEARL's primary source for school-wide communication, including field trip releases and important announcements.

RAN/RAS Screening

All K–1 PEARL students need to complete the RAN/RAS dyslexia screener this year.

In-person screening: Meet + Greet, 9:00–10:00 AM or after lunch

Can't attend? A remote option will be offered in January.

Questions? Contact Amy Weston at aweston@qsd48.org.

Seesaw

Returning families: Log in using the same email and password as before.

New families: Download the Seesaw app and log in using the email you provided to PEARL and temporary password Pearl2026. You can then create your own password.

Zoom Classes

Zoom Classes begin the week of Sept. 14. Your Zoom teacher will contact you if they haven't already.
